
A Turkish citizen with an arrest warrant was detained in Mar del Plata, accused of fraud and scams in the city of Istanbul in 2022. These events took place in April 2022 in Istanbul, Turkey. The investigation began following a communication from the Federal Police Division of Fugitives and Extraditions regarding the request for the individual’s international arrest.
According to Interpol reports, the citizen boarded a bus in Buenos Aires heading to Mar del Plata, where he was ultimately captured. A discreet surveillance operation was mounted at platform 17 of the Mar del Plata bus terminal for his arrest. Once on the scene, the subject was identified among the passengers, detained, and placed at the disposal of the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 3 of Mar del Plata.
The 23-year-old was placed in charge of the Court to continue with the corresponding procedural measures and his eventual extradition. The capture was carried out after a joint investigation by the Ministry of National Security and members of the Federal Operational Unit Division Mar del Plata. It was determined that the accused was involved in the crime of fraud through computer systems, banks, or financial institutions.
